Hans Zehetmaier (65) is leaving the group’s executive board on January 1, 2020 having reached retirement age. This signals his withdrawal from day-to-day operations. Zehetmaier subsequently plans to transition to the role of chairman of msg’s supervisory board. Executive board member Dr. Stephan Frohnhoff (52) is assuming the position of new chairman of the executive board effective January 1, 2020. Further changes to the members of the msg executive board will also be seen.
After almost 40 years as the chairman of the executive board, Hans Zehetmaier now plans to assume the role of chairman of the group’s supervisory board. Having reached the retirement age of 65, he plans to use his new role to work as a driving force in close exchange with the executive board. Going forward, Stephan Frohnhoff will oversee all operative business and the strategic development of msg. Frohnhoff has been a member of the executive board since 2011 and is currently in charge of the business lines Banking and Public Sector. He is also responsible for the central divisions Organization, IT and HR, as well as the Corporate Security & Quality department.
In addition, Jens Stäcker will also be leaving the executive board of his own volition in order to focus on his role as the chairman of the executive board at msg nexinsure, which was founded in 2018.
New appointees to the board will be Rolf Kranz and Dr. Jürgen Zehetmaier. Kranz will then oversee the insurance-specific Solution Consulting. Jürgen Zehetmaier will oversee the central divisions Administration and Finances, Controlling, and Organization effective January 1, 2020. He will also take on new duties in the context of msg’s insurance business.
