msg Switzerland has been awarded a ten-year framework contract at armasuisse. This involves the Federal Office of Armaments of the Swiss Department of Defense, Civil Protection and Sport (Bundesamt für Rüstung des Schweizer Departements für Verteidigung, Bevölkerungsschutz und Sport (VPS)). msg was one of five technology companies to win the tender. A total of twelve companies had participated.
The framework contract for the five successful bidders amounts to a total of 100 million Swiss francs. This sum is spread unevenly across the areas of project management, engineering and technology, requirements engineering, quality and risk management, security, project support and technical market monitoring. Consulting services are to be provided at the Bern site for various strategic projects in these fields over the term of the contract.
Bidding consortium as door opener
This is msg Switzerland's first framework contract with VPS. On the one hand, the company was awarded the contract due to the excellent price-performance ratio and the persuasive project references from the Defense area of msg in Germany. On the other hand, the bidding consortium with Redguard AG no doubt also played a decisive role. Redguard is a Swiss IT consulting company with a focus on the cyber security sector. The company had already worked for VPS and entered the race for this tender in a bidding consortium with msg in the lead.
For us, it is a huge success to have been considered in this important tender,” explains Michael Peterer, division lead at msg Switzerland. “We are convinced that we will be a reliable consulting partner for VPS and look forward to many exciting projects.”
