Döhler stands as a prominent global producer of food ingredients with more than 9,500 employees. msg has assisted the family-owned enterprise located in Darmstadt in transitioning its human resources management from the former on-premise system to SAP SuccessFactors, a cloud-based platform designed for human experience management. The project's success can be largely attributed to the outstanding cooperation between the project managers at Döhler and msg.
While innovation is a fundamental aspect of Döhler's corporate culture, prior to the transition, the HR department was predominantly defined by analog and local structures. To enable employees across different locations to become acquainted with the new cloud-based software, the system was implemented gradually, starting with the modules for recruiting and compensation, followed by the introduction of the new master system, SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central.
msg was engaged to address a staffing bottleneck that arose following the rapid implementation, as Döhler required assistance with optimization post go-live. Furthermore, it was essential to reassess the milestones that had been achieved, the business requirements that needed to be met, and the outstanding tasks that remained to be completed.
Chiranjeevi Kata, Lead Business Consultant at msg, collaborated with the project managers at Döhler, functioning as an internal consultant in this complex scenario. For him, the productive exchange between HR, HR IT and msg was a key success factor: “I thoroughly appreciated the opportunity to collaborate with my colleagues at Döhler, where we exchanged ideas, shared knowledge, advanced the project, and collectively developed new concepts. I felt a strong sense of belonging to the team and recognized for my contributions.” Reflecting on past experiences, Paul Wittig, Head of Group Center of Excellence HR Operations & Services at Döhler Group, highlights the positive and trustworthy collaboration with msg: “This project exemplified effective collaboration among team members, resulting in mutual benefits for the overall initiative. Despite being an IT project, its ultimate success hinged on the contributions of the individuals involved, thereby influencing the business outcome.”
